Make Out Fall Out.

Or wait maybe it says make art? That would make more sense as this is taken in good ol Bushwick.
Outfit: Collar (made by me, DIY here) | Top: American Apparel | Skirt Vintage from London | Purse from London | boots ~thrifted
Fave Looks: Cynthia Rowley SS12
6.8.2012
I have an obsession with all these pretty pieces from Cynthia Rowley in her Spring/Summer 2012. An Art Girl herself, Rowley always has a good dose of contemporary art mixed in her designs. So of course I am a big fan. Abstract botanical prints mixed with geographical lines, all very much future meets classic. Ah hourglass white dress in a mesh-like sport fabric and athletic seaming. I can easily imagine twirling in these dresses but looking mad cool all at once. Flowy, billowy skirts with bows, and painted like lyrca leggings. Oh, and then some-chunk + strappy heels to the mix, yes atta girl Cynthia!
DIY: The Painted Collar
6.5.2012
As seen on The Blush this is a DIY collar (a huge trend at the moment!) that you can tailor (literally!) to your personality. I had so much fun with my project, I made two — one for my more artistic and creative side and another for the more vintage, polished girl feel. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
Supplies
• Ribbon (elastic works well too; really whatever you have around the house you think will work), 1/4-3/8″ wide
• Acrylic paint, whatever colors you like!
• Scraps of leather or suede
• Pattern, you can download here
• Strong glue
• Paint brush
• Sharpie
Step 1: Cut out pattern and trace onto back of leather/suede scrap with a Sharpie.
Step 2: Cut the leather/suede and flip over to right side.
Step 3: Paint each collar piece as desired. In this look, I went with a more demure look with gold polka dots on white background. For my “wild” look, you will see I went for a more fun, crazy, artsy look.
Step 4: Complete look and let dry.
Step 5: Cut ribbon 1 1/2″ in the middle, and 8/10″ for each of the ends. Glue and let dry. You can always cut off ends a little more if too long.
Ta Da!
It’s the perfect accessory to make that old outfit you love new again!
Go Artsy
And just to keep the creative winds going, here is one a little more on the wild side! It’s the exact same concept, but I used another color for background and went a little dramatic with the colors!
Musette Monday: Donna Summer
6.4.2012
If there is one lady who wears sparkle really well, it is Donna Summer. When hot summer days arrive, it’s nice to add a little glitter to those late nights out. And why not do it in honor of this 70’s glam icon. So while you enjoy those late nights out because you worked hard for, be sure to add some of these fancy treats to your wardrobe:
| 1 Rebecca Taylor | 2 Asos | 3 3.1 Phillip Lim | 4 Top Shop | 5 Stila |
| 6 3.1 Phillip LIm | 7 Romwe | 8 Deborah Lippmann | 9 Alice + Olivia | 10 Monsoon | 11 RDuJour |
Decade Guide: Bathing Suits.
5.31.2012
Life is better in a bathing suit right? After Memorial Weekend, summer is on! Everyone tends to escape New York in the summer. But I honestly prefer to stay. Yes tourist flock all over New York but not here in Brooklyn, at least not yet here in the ‘burg. Where it is a non-stop candy land of bbq’s, pool parties and outdoor concerts. And when wearing your swimsuit all day as part of your outfit is very much okay. I am a huge fan of wearing a vintage inspired one piece with a pair of denim shorts. Very le chic. Here are some of my fave bathing suits of the season grouped up by decades of course!
