Fave Looks: Rachel Antonoff Fall 2012

Getting excited for fall and escaping into storybook land with Rachel Antonoff.  For her Fall 12 collection she brings back a childhood memory of pretending to be sailing at night.  And she takes us back to this imaginative tale very well with her whimsical clothes.  No surprise here, in a very good way. Girlish dresses embellished with sparkling collars.  Prints reflected a delightful trip sailing along a forest of printed leaves.  And how adorable is this little skirt with a coin purse sewn to be a pocket!  That is definitely going on my wish list! Colors included fire engine red, delicate oranges, deep blues and a dark turquoise.  Silhouettes were of high waisted skirts, playful rompers,  40’s feminine fitted tea-length dresses, along with embellished shifts. Hoping to get my hands on some of these this fall, so cute!!

Fave Looks: Chris Benz Fall 12

Getting in the mood for fall, especially in a festive way when it comes to this collection by Chris Benz. With glittery pieces and oversized bows in the mix. Proper lady meets nightclub extraordinaire. The collection as a whole glamorized a time-period where it was all about the art of dressing up.  I couldn’t help but be smitten with all the reds, yellows, and oranges mixed with creams and beiges. Adding a contemporary twist to tea length dresses to make them feel new again.  A great deal of mixing of textures, where exquisite fabrics such as leathers, tweets met the ultimate fancy of tulle and sequins.  The outfits were styled in somewhat of a disorderly way, as if the lady herself spent hours and hours planning her outfit. But then all of a sudden she looked at the clock and it was time to go! And nothing but to throw on her clothes and run out to her fancy dinner date. And yet still look extremely splendid indeed.   What I love about this collection is how Benz took these elegant ladies and added some whit and quirky amusement.

Fave Looks: Lauren Moffatt Fall 12

I’m a fan of when School Girl meets the Fashion world, so upon receiveing the invite to Lauren Moffatt’s Fall  2012 collection and that it would be held at the Old School in downtown New York. I knew it was going to be to my liking.  The presentation was broken out to two rooms, the  Classroom and the Art Room…..so naturally I strolled down to the Art Room first.  Where the models were painting in their pretty girl-like outfits. Keeping true to herself Lauren’s collection was full of flirty prints, such as chevron and adorable dresses, with bows and Peter-Pan Collars!

Really into this hardware bow! And love the fresh take of eyelet paired up with sequins.

A sequin Crop Top with a collar? oh why yes indeed!

A so very cute Chemistry set to go along. Science never looked so good!

Fave Looks: Calla Fall 12

My new found love this last NYFW is the collection Calla. The designer from Paris Calla Haynes, made her first New York showcase at Milk Studios All these floral fancies they showed for Fall ’12…I want to put in my closet ….um now please! I have always been a fan of mixing prints…floral on top of floral, floral with graphics etc. I would like to see how Clarissa  from Clarissa Explains it All would pull this off……right??!

Love this graphic coat….I think it will be a must to fall! Good-bye boring!

Fave Looks: Corey Lynn Calter Fall 2012

Obviously…..if you follow this blog at all, you know I’m a big fan of color! So but of course I am totally smitten with Corey Lynn Calter’s Fall 12 collection! Which was a kaleidoscope of brights, pattern and shine!!!  A perfect mix of retro and ladylikeness.  Fur collars, matching suits, pleated skirts, sequined dresses, floral printed satins were presented to us on a color-blocked background.  Ms. Calter is also a FIT graduate, so as one myself too…..I definitely give her a high five for this collection!!

this makes me want to dress office chic everyday!
