Outfit: being casual at Mana Contemporary
9.26.2013
This week I took a little trip to Jersey City in New Jersey to check out the Mana Contemporary Art Museum. I was invited by my friend Michael, and this is the first time hearing about it, and I am glad i did! Set in a very industrial part of Newark giving it a very artsy vibe. Mana is almost like a little art city, not only is there many high ceiling art studios, but an art supply store, framing center, art storage and of course a cafe. With six different exhibitions it is definitely worth taking the time to venture out of the city. Below I took some photos of my favorite pieces from the Pop Culture exhibition and Artist Carole Feuerman. This Sunday, September 29th they are hosting an opening party for the Six Exhibitions from 1-6pm. If you live in the city there will be a free shuttle from Milk Studios starting at 12:30 pm. This has been my favorite little spring gem lately. The long sleeves make up for the super shortness of the dress, oh but then there are cut outs too (oops). It is getting hot already, but it’s perfect to wear at night when it cools off and you don’t want to lug a jacket around. And I am loving all the blues and hunter green in this floral, feels fresh. This is a thrift find at Beacon’s Closet and back pack is vintage from Stella Dallas.

Hi friends! Just got back from an amazing weekend in Detroit, suffering a bit from food coma though 🙂 It’s good to be back in New York to my salad and smoothie routine. As much as I love dining out, I prefer cooking at home, it’s nice to know what is going in the food, you know 🙂 Here is a quick snapshot of me arriving in Detroit. My go to airport outfit: high bun, sweater, fancy necklace, skinny jeans, high heels(but comfy) and a good ol big bag like this one from Rebecca Minkoff. I am absolutely terrified of flying, but I do love airports. Which is why it is important for me to dress up a lil and enjoy the scene at the Airport Lounge! If you are following me on Instagram….then you have already seen this lil candid gem—but if you are not, you should be! @laceeswan
